VR made by gravity

We are specialists in VR video production. We’ve designed and created live-action VR experiences in 360 degree 3D VR and VR 180, with spatial audio (3D sound), compatible across Google VR, YouTube VR, Facebook, Oculus, Playstation VR, Samsung Gear VR and more. We produced our first VR film for a research lab back in 2016, so you’ll find no one more experienced in creating VR for science communication.

What is VR?

VR stands for virtual reality. Broadly, it’s any content that can be viewed on a VR headset. We shoot films with an extremely wide field-of-view using specialist equipment, and this is played back in a VR headset that tracks your head movements and adjusts your view of the scene accordingly. This enables you to look around: up, down, left, right, or even behind you.

What’s more, we shoot in real stereoscopic 3D, and we even record sound in 3D, too. This creates a truly immersive, realistic experience, with a sense of depth and directionality in both what you see and what you hear. In other words, it feels just like being there!

VR is perfect for science video production

Some ideas…

  • Immersive experiences for public outreach events

  • Virtual museum and art exhibitions

  • Facilitating distance learning and research collaboration.

  • Virtual tours

  • Experiencing inaccessible, distant or extreme environments

  • Documenting an accurate first-person-view of an experiment or experience.

The light gas gun

We produced a 3D VR 360 experience to demonstrate the hypervelocity impact facility at the University of Kent in the UK. Our tour of the lab was filmed in 8k with a full 360 degree view in stereoscopic 3D, and includes picture-in-picture detail shots and floating animated diagrams of the Light Gas Gun –a device that scientists use to shoot projectiles at speeds of up to 7.5km per second.

Our Light Gas Gun experience has been shown to the public at live events using VR headsets provided by us.

To get the full experience, view our film using a VR headset. Otherwise, you can view a screen version on YouTube by clicking the button below.

What is VR 360?

VR 360 is an advanced type of immersive video content that shows the entire 360 degree sphere around the viewer. VR 360 video production has the advantage of completely immersing the viewer within the scene, and when shot in stereoscopic (3D vision) with spatial audio (3D sound) the experience is complete.

We created this 3D VR 180 tour of the Planetary Environmental Facility at Aarhus University in Denmark.

What is VR 180?

VR 180 is a type of immersive video that shows everything in the 180 degrees of view ahead of you. VR 180 is stereoscopic (3D), which means the scene will have a realistic sense of visual depth. VR 180 video production has a number of advantages, including speed of production and the relative ease with which the camera (viewpoint) can move around during the scene.

Ever forward…

We pitched and created this 360 degree lab tour for the Open University in the UK back in 2016. This was early days for the field of VR, and used cutting edge equipment at that time. The technology moves fast, and we always use the latest and greatest gear for each new project.
